Karnataka: 40-year-old man survives after being impaled by 2 ft tree branch

A 40-year-old man in Amruthur town of Karnataka survived after a tree branch impaled his belly. He was operated by a team of doctors who removed the 60 cm long and 3 cm thick branch and saved his life

Nanjesha HN underwent medical treatment for almost 5 months 


The accident occurred when he lost his balance and his two-wheeler skidded

For 40-year-old Nanjesha HN the agony was finally over. After five months of treatment, doctors finally removed a 60-cm long, 3-cm thick tree branch from his belly. According to The Times of India, the operation lasted nearly 2 hours.

Nanjesha, a farm labourer in Amruthur town of Tumkur district, Karnataka was pierced by a tree branch in December 2018.

The accident took place when Nanjesha HN was riding his two-wheeler from his home to attend the funeral of a relative. During the journey, his bike was hit by a stone while avoiding a truck coming from the opposite side of the road.
